About the role
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager who understands how people actually sell on WhatsApp and knows how to turn product features into simple, relatable content.
This role is about showing sellers how WassapShop makes their daily work easier. You’ll manage our social presence, shape our voice, and help turn attention into signups.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Managing WassapShop’s social media accounts (Instagram, X, TikTok)
- Planning weekly content that explains the product clearly
- Turning features into short, useful posts and videos
- Writing captions that sound human, not salesy
- Responding to comments and basic DMs in a friendly, helpful way
- Spotting common seller problems and turning them into content ideas
- Collaborating with the founder to align content with product updates
- Tracking what works and adjusting content direction
What kind of content you’ll create
- Short videos explaining how WassapShop works
- Before/after posts showing WhatsApp chaos vs clean orders
- Simple tutorials (screen recordings, walkthroughs)
- Relatable posts about selling on WhatsApp in Nigeria
- Feature highlights without exaggeration
- Social proof posts (user stories, feedback, growth milestones)
Skills and experience we’re looking for
You must have:
- Proven experience managing social media for a brand, startup, or product
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and X
- Ability to write clear, simple captions that sell without sounding pushy
- Experience creating short-form video content (Reels, TikTok)
- Basic graphic skills (Canva is fine)
- Good communication and time management
- Understanding of WhatsApp commerce or online selling
Big plus if you:
- Have managed SaaS or tech product accounts before
- Have grown a brand or page from scratch
- Understand Nigerian online sellers and small businesses
- Can spot trends early and adapt them properly
- Are comfortable explaining products on camera (optional, not required)
